THEY WILL MOURN AND GRIEVE
Genesis 43:7-10
7 But they said, “The man (Joseph, their brother, who was hurt and sold by them) asked us pointedly about ourselves and our family, saying, ‘Is your father still alive? Have you another brother?’ And we told him according to these words. Could we possibly have known that he would say, ‘Bring your brother down’?” 8 Then Judah said to Israel his father, “Send the lad (Benjamin) with me, and we will arise and go, that we may live and not die, both we and you and also our little ones. 9 I myself will be surety (guarantee) for him; from my hand you shall require him. If I do not bring him back to you and set him before you, then let me bear the blame forever. 10 For if we had not lingered, surely by now we would have returned this second time.”

The famine was severe, and Jacob decided to send his sons to Egypt to buy more grain. Yet they did not know that the person who had sold them grain the very first time was their own brother, Joseph. The one whom they had hated and sold to the Egyptian merchants as a slave.
The brothers could not recognise their brother Joseph, who had already become a governor of Egypt. If they did, they would be feeling ashamed and embarrassed to have done evil to him when he was young.

Similarly, our Lord Jesus was being crucified on the cross by religious leaders, scribes, and Pharisees who wanted him dead when he had committed no sins. The Scriptures predicted that one day those who had crucified Him would appear before HIM. They would mourn and grieve for what they had done to HIM.
And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.
Behold, He(Jesus) is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.
At their second meet-up, we saw a change of heart in Judah when he willingly risked his life to save Benjamin (Joseph's brother - born of the same mother) from being held captive as a slave. We saw a repentant heart, different from what he did to Joseph. Over the years, God has changed him and his other siblings for what they did to Joseph.
Unlike Judah, Jesus was perfect and without sin. 1 Peter 2:22 NKJV says, “Who committed no sin, nor was deceit found in His mouth”. Yet He risked his life to save us from eternal death by going to the cross for all our sins. Before Jesus' return, may we take every opportunity to receive Him as our Lord and Saviour
