VISIONS AND DREAMS

 

Job 33: 15-16 (NKJV)
In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, while slumbering on their beds, 16 Then HE opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction.

 

Are all dreams we had, have spiritual significance and are from God? Can we simply believe that some of these dreams we had are from God?

 

Bible teaches that dreams can be a prophetic revelation from God, however, we are to seek the Lord diligently with a discerning heart to know if our dreams are spiritual or demonic. Because not all dreams that we had comes from God. In the book of Daniel, we are told that God gave him the knowledge and understanding of visions and dreams.

 

Daniel 1:17
As for these four young men, God gave them knowledge and skill in all literature and wisdom; and Daniel an understanding in all visions and dreams.

 

Dreams can be a channel of communication between God and His people. When our minds are congested and deluged (overloaded), it is difficult to listen to the still small voice of God that tries to get our attention. At other times, God may have spoken to us a few times but still, we did not perceive His message.

 

Hence it is only when one is in sweet slumber, in the stillness of night when all activities ceased, God is then able to impart his message and instructions to us. 

 

Job 33:14
For God may speak in one way, or in another, yet man does not perceive it.

 

Dreams can also be a warning from God so that His people may escape and avoid an imminent or future trouble that might happen soon or later. In the book of Matthew, we were told of the story of toddler Jesus whose life was in danger. Through a warning by the angel to his earthly parents, the trio managed to flee to another country, thus preventing a calamity for the whole family.  


Matthew 2:13 (NKJV)
Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the young child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; 


The next time we have a dream that appeared spiritual, jot down the dream and its details. We are not to be perplexed over the dream we don’t understand. Instead we shall seek God to teach us the understanding of our night visions.

 

Prayer: 

Dear Lord, teach me to discern if the vision and dream are from You. Just like Daniel, teach me the understanding and interpretation of any visions and dreams that I felt is spiritual and prophetic. Help me to be diligent to seek understanding so that I do not error or perceive a wrong instruction from a deceiving spirit. Bible warned that You are against those who prophesy lying dreams which lead others astray through lies and recklessness. - Jeremiah 22:32. Hence, help me to exercise cautions in handling dreams and visions. In Jesus name I pray, Amen!

IF TWO AGREE   Matthew‬ ‭18‬:‭19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Again I say to you that  if two of you agree  on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.
