PREPARE LIKE NOAH

Luke 21:8-12 (NKJV)

And He said: Take heed that you not be deceived. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and, ‘The time has drawn near.’ Therefore do not go after them. But when you hear of wars and commotions, do not be terrified; For these things must come to pass first, but the end will not come immediately.” 10 Then He said to them, Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. 11 And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. 12 But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name’s sake.

During my fast on 08 August, 2025, the Lord led me to read Luke Chapter 21. The passage that captured my attention was about the end-time programs that will surely take place. Some of these things to note are:

Verse 8

We are asked to take heed (pay attention) because there will be falsehoods, heresies, and deceptions of an identical Jesus Christ who will surface. Those who have an intimate relationship with our Lord Jesus will be able to discern the real Jesus Christ. The Bible says, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” – John 10:27

Quote:

2 Thessalonians 2:3,4 (NKJV)

3 Let no one deceive you by any means;…… 4 opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped

Verse 9

During Jesus’ time, the disciples were taught about the end of time and what believers would expect to come. Since Luke’s era until now is approximately 2,000+ years. The disciples and many saints may have been waiting for the end-time prophecy to be fulfilled in their time, but it did not. Many had already gone home to be with the Lord, yet this end-time prophecy had still not come to pass.

What should the current believers do? Do we cast aside and think it is not for our era? Are we the end-time remnants left to witness the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ? The bible says, “We shall not all sleep (in death)."

Quote:

1 Corinthians 15:51-52 (NKJV)

51 Behold, I tell you a mysteryWe shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet.

Many years back, preachers already began to warn about the end-time signs and the return of the Lord after seeing and hearing the proliferation (spread, increase) of natural disasters and pestilences. Just as verse 9 says, we are not to be terrified by hearing or seeing many of these world disasters. The end has not yet come.

Verse 10 & 11

In the recent two years, we have heard and seen more of nations rising against nations, kingdoms against kingdoms (such as Russia & Ukraine, Middle East wars), great earthquakes in various places, famines and pestilences, and fearful sights (forest blazes, global climate changes that affect the air, seas and lands), and great signs from heaven. The end-time events became more intensified.

These are warnings for us to “prepare ourselves” for the coming of the Lord as we see more of these end-time events unfolding.

Verse 12

But before all these things take place, there will be persecution. According to some commentaries, the end-time persecutions are referenced to Israel and not the church (the believers). This is because until this age, the Jews did not repent and have not accepted the Lord Jesus as their personal Saviour and Lord. They had crucified Jesus and are still waiting for their ‘Messiah’ to come when HE (Jesus) had already come and died on the cross for their sins. Hence, this causes them to inherit God's wrath even though God still loves them.

Therefore, for the church (believers), many believed God did not appoint us to wrath (his anger, punishment), but salvation.

Quote:

1 Thessalonians 5:9 (NKJV)

For God did not appoint us to wrath (his anger, punishment), but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

The rapture is similar to Noah’s preparation for the ark, which God asked him to build in advance. Because of the preparation, Noah and his household members were preserved and saved from being wiped away by the flood.

We wonder how long Noah took to build the ark. It may be approximately 100 to 120 years.

         Quoted by GotQuestions website:

Similarly, we are to be like Noah, get ourselves prepared for the sudden return of the Lord, because in Luke 17:26, the Lord Jesus emphasized the story of Noah and asked the disciples to take heed. They are to prepare themselves, like in the days of Noah.

Quote:

Luke 17:26 (NKJV)

26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days (2nd coming) of the Son of Man:

If Jesus said his coming back would be similar to the days of Noah? This means we will be kept safe like Noah, protected and preserved if we prepare ourselves.

Are we going to build an ark (a boat)? That wasn’t what Jesus was inferring.

If rapture is the way of our preservation, then we need to be ‘holy’ to be raptured, and

period.

Quote:

Hebrews 12:14 (NKJV)

Pursue peace with all people, and holinesswithout which no one will see the Lord:

Rapture means ‘caught up’. It means our body is being taken upward. If our body is unclean, filthy, and heavily draped with sins, it can’t be lifted into the air by the power of the Holy Spirit. This means our lives must be filled with the Holy Spirit by living holy and transformed lives intentionally. This is the preparedness for us, to prepare like in the days of Noah..

Rapture is only entitled to the believers. Hence, those who have not yet accepted the Lord Jesus as their personal Saviour should do so soon, sincerely, according to their own will and without compulsion. (click)

To be left behind is the scariest thing, but a reality as mentioned in the following verse.

Quote:

Matthew 24:40-42 (NKJV)

Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. 42 Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.

Prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus, teach us how to prepare ourselves like Noah did. As YOU have cautioned us in Your Word, “Without holiness, no one will see the Lord.” Lord, help us to attain holiness so that we are a clean vessel for the Holy Spirit to dwell in us and to lift us upward at the last trumpet call. Prepare us to be Your holy bride at Your coming, qualified to be raptured at the twinkling of an eye. In Jesus’ mighty name, amen.
