DO NOT BE AFRAID


Matthew 10:29-31

Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.


It’s such a comfort to know that God loves and values us more than what we think HE would actually do for us.

 

We read and heard about Him but we have never seen Him in human form. Sometimes it is difficult to relate to what the scriptures reiterated time and time again that God cares and loves us tangibly without reservation. Just as the scripture says, “you are of more value than many sparrows.” - Matt 10:31

 

Jesus himself illustrated a comparison of God’s love towards us with the sparrows. The sparrows are tiny living creatures, too delicate and fearful. It's impossible to hold them in our cupped palms because they could never stay there courageously before humans. We know if we were to speak “shoo’ softly and before a sound was whispered, they would immediately flee away and disappeared from our very sight. That is how timid any bird could be!


We too can be so anxious and worry about anything in life, from big to small. Many times, we are comparable to a bird, succumbed to a slightest scare. Nevertheless, we can be assured that God knows our frailty and nothing can fall to the ground unless it is our Father’s will. God knows how vulnerable we are and will act as our scarecrow!

 

Let us trust God and be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication to Him. Surely the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:6

 

Our heart can be at peace when anxiety and fear arise knowing that the very hairs of our head are all numbered. - Matthew 10:30

 

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I thank you for your great love for me. Thank you for loving and valuing me more than the sparrows. In situation where anxiety and fear escalate, may Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard my heart and mind through Christ Jesus. Let faith and trust encamp around me knowing You are for me and will make all things work out well in the end. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen!

IF TWO AGREE   Matthew‬ ‭18‬:‭19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Again I say to you that  if two of you agree  on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.
